Folio-sized volume, hardbound in pictorial cloth. Text by the Deputy Keeper of the Department of Ethnography in the British Museum. 46 pages of Black & White plates of the Ivories with each facing page giving a description and dimensions. The photographs are by. W. & B. Forman. The Museum houses what is probably the largest such collection of these magnificent works, in the world. The four major groups - pedestal cups, hunting horns, spoons and forks, and miscellaneous objects--are beautifully illustrated in this book.

The condition is NearFine, with light bumping and rubbing at the corners and edges. The dustjacket is Good+, with small chips at the extremities. Hinges and overall binding is tight. Endpapers are fully illustrated, front and back. Interior pages are crisp, clean, tight, bright and complete!
