#NS-10 - Practical Astrology: a Simple Method of Casting Horoscopes: The Language of the Stars, easily Comprehended - Comte C. de St.-Germain - Laird & Lee, Chicago - 1901 - $45.00

Laird & Lee, Chicago, 1901. Hard Cover. 292 pp. plus 10 pages of ads at the back. No Jacket. Yellow cloth decorated in red & black. Exquisite folding full-color frontispiece of a zodiac found on a ceiling of the Temple of Hathor in Denderah, Upper Egypt (built in 700 B.C.). There are many other b&w line drawings throughout the text, more than 100 in all! These illustrations include Constellations of the northern and southern skies; the 4 Trinocracies; the 12 Constellations of the Zodiac; the Major and Minor Arcanes (68 pages of illustrations of these alone); and many more!

The condition is VeryGood. with light bumping and rubbing at the corners and edges, and a few spots of light soil. There are two spots where the yellow color has been lost on the front cover... 1/2” x 1” at the LR corner, and 1/4” x 3/8” above the letter “c” of “Practical” at the top edge. Inside, the front hinge is cracked but otherwise intact... balance of the binding is tight. Interior pages are clean and bright, with the exception of a few small spots of soil and the occasional light fingerprint smudge. On pp. 144/145 some light scribbles in soft pencil were found. Using a special eraser, I was able to remove all but the faintest trace of these marks, rendering the text easily read again.

NOTE: This yellow 292 page printing is is of much better quality than the orange covered 257 page printing, even though the publisher and publication date (1901) are the same. A very desirable treatment of this popular subject, we are certain you will be pleased to own, use and/or display this book.
