#S-1 - "Kentucky in Washington" by Lee Lamar Robinson - Louisville, 1928 - First Edition, inscribed and signed by the author - $60.00

The title extension reads: "History in Brief of Participation of Kentucky, through Kentuckians, in Affairs at Washington, 1792-1928." It was published in Louisville in 1928, and is a First Edition! The author's inscription, on a blank flyleaf page, reads in part: "To Mrs. Stalker - In appreciation of her courtesy in making available to me the perusal of so many of her interesting books dealing with early-day... history... Lee Lamar Robinson". Hardbound in blue cloth stamped in gold, it measures 7.25" x 10.5" and has 143 pages. The book is very focused, and describes the development both of the state of Kentucky, and the District of Columbia, and their mutual interaction through the efforts of Kentuckians with respect to the affairs of our national government. A great deal of the book is devoted to biographies and accomplishments of the men and women who served in various capacities in Washington, from cabinet posts in the Executive branch, to the federal Legislature and Judiciary, the Military and more! The book is graced with many photographs of persons and places dealt with in the text. One especially interesting aerial illustration of the entire White House is part of this number.

The book is in NearFine condition, with light bumping at the corners and edges of the spine, but NO other exterior faults. The hinges and internal binding are tight like new. There is some foxing on a page or two next to the flyleafs. Otherwise the interior pages are crisp, clean, tight, bright and complete. A valuable reference in outstanding condition!
