#NF-7 - "Lies, Logs and Loggers" - by Finley Hays - 1961 - Signed, First Edition - $35.00 Written by a man who'd done it all, this is an inside look at what logging was like in the early part of the 20th Century. When he talks of topping or rigging spar trees, you know he's been there. Hays had worked for over 40 different logging companies, and worked most every job within that occupation. In a down-to-earth style he writes of what he knew intimately, giving us the insider's view of an occupation little understood by the uninitiated. Loaded with drawings by Eldon Olin and photographs by the author, you will be both educated and entranced with this robust story of a rugged way of life. The book is soft bound, measures 5.5" x 8.5" and has 94 pages plus the cover. It is inscribed "To Joyce, a most enjoyable enemy - Finley" on the front free flyleaf. A 1963 newspaper article about Hays and his book is tipped-in on the inside front cover. The condition is VeryGood+, with some light toning of the
front free flyleaf from the adjacent tipped-in newspaper article.
