#NS-6 - "North American Game Fishes" by Francesca La Monte - 1950 - Doubleday & Co. - Extensive color plates - $20.00 This wonderful pocket-sized handbook is hardbound in blue cloth, and is just as useful today as when it was published over a half-century ago. Measuring 4.75" x 7.25", it has 202 pages printed on high-quality glossy paper. It covers both fresh and salt water fish, divided into game and non-game species. There are 40 color plates covering at least twice that number of fish, and dozens more b&w plates! There are tables showing salt water game-fish records and fresh water game-fish records, as well as keys to both fresh and salt water species. The index has both common and scientific names for easy reference. The condition is VeryGood+, with bumping and light rubbing at the corners and edges. There is slight toning of the the endpapers, and some light foxing spots on the two pages immediately facing the endpapers. Otherwise the interior pages are crisp, clean, tight, bright and complete!
