#FE-14 - The Sandal and the Cave - The Indians of Oregon by L.E. Cressman - Beaver Books - First Edition - $20.00 This book was written by Luther S. Cressman, Professor of the Department of Anthropology, University of Oregon, and discoverer of the fabulous cache of twenty-nine sandals woven of twisted sage bark some 9000+ years ago, at Ft. Rock Cave in Eastern Oregon. This book is an inspiration for anyone who has ever wondered what the life of the Great Basin Paiute people was like in the days when Eastern Oregon was just emerging from the last glaciation, and covered with a vast system of pluvial lakes. Softbound in heavy, red card-stock, decorated in blue and lettered in black, the book measures approx. 5.5 x 8.5, it has 81 + viii pages. The book is illustrated with photographs, plus 2 different maps on the inside front and back covers. The condition is VeryGood+, with a price stamp on the front free flyleaf, and some underlining of text scattered throughout the book. This underlining was very neatly done with a ruler. Otherwise the book is crisp, clean, tight and bright, with NO other faults. |
