Hardbound in maroon cloth, stamped in gold, this book measures 6” x 8.75” and has 194 pages. It was published by Harper & Brother in 1942, and is a stated First Edition. The first practical television was demonstrated in the late 1920’s, and then held-up, first because of the depression, and then WWII. Therefore this is a very interesting and early work in the development of this life-changing innovation of the mid-20th century!

Chapter headings include: The Speaking Eye Looks Ahead, Launching a New Industry, Television in the Home, Television Programs that Click, Backstage with the Camera, Television and the Movies, Does Television Threaten the Theater?, News Telecasts and Sports, A Television School of the Air, Evolution of Television, How the Radio Eye Sees, Historic Steps in Television, and a list of Commercial Television Stations at that time! In addition, 8 glossy pages provide a dozen captioned photos.

The condition is VeryGood, with light bumping and rubbing at the corners and edges. The front free flyleaf has a partially erased scribble at the bottom. Otherwise, the book is crisp, clean, tight, bright and complete.
