#IL-6 - "Of Women and their Elegance" by Norman Mailer with photos by Milton H. Greene - Simon & Schuster, 1980 First Edition - $25.00 Quoting from the front dustjacket flap: "This magnificent and stunning new book is at once a fictional autobiography and a work of art. Norman Mailer has set out to recreate the mind, the thoughts, the feelings, the life of Marilyn Monroe, as if she herself were talking in her own recognizable tone of voice, about the most intimate moments of her private life. The portrait of Marilyn is intensified by the startling photographs (by) her friend, the photographer and movie producer Milton Greene...". Hardbound in black cloth, it measures approx. 8.5" x 11", and has 287 pages, about a third of which are wonderful photos, in both color and b&w, of MM and other contemporary actresses woven into the text. The condition is VeryGood, with a touch of light soil on the
covers, and a hint of damp stain at the top of the endpapers
and a few other pages. The price-clipped dustjacket, which, remarkably,
is without any tears, chips or other faults, has a couple of
soiled spots and a damp stain at the top of the back panel. The
front panel and spine are in excellent condition! |
