#C-26 - "Gulliver's Travels" by Jonathan Swift - with 19 two-toned, Wood Engravings by Fritz Eichenberg - Publ. by The Heritage Press - $20.00 Hardbound in blue cloth, stamped in red and gold on the front cover and spine, the book measures approx. 7" x 10" and has 331 pages. This is a Junior Heritage edition, complete with original slipcase and introductory pamphlet! The book is an account of all Four Voyages into several Remote Nations of the world, as originally told by Jonathan Swift, including the quaint charm of his original Old English phrasing, and is sure to delight any child who loves adventure stories. The condition is NearFine, with a VeryGood slipcase. The book itself is almost like new... the only fault found being a faint lightening of the spine, only discernible in strong light and by careful comparison to the front or back covers, which, of course, were protected from light by the slipcase. The slipcase shows bumping and rubbing at the corners and edges with a hint of the underlying boards showing at the corners. A few other minor scuffs and smudges comprise that balance of the faults. Otherwise, one would suspect that the book was brand new. There are NO internal marks, smudges or other faults whatever! In short, this is a book which one could give as a gift with the supreme confidence that the recipient would be thrilled with his/her acquisition!!! |
