#C-16 - "Island Boy - A Story of Ancient Hawaii" by Robert R. Harry, Sr. - CBC Edition, 1957 - $15.00

Hardbound in light blue boards, this book measures 5.75" x 8.25" and has 232 pages. Though the story has a sad beginning when all but the young boy of Maui, Paulo, are killed by a rival chieftan when they're unable to pay him tribute, it becomes a wonderful tale of survival and triumph over the trials of his youth. It is illustrated with more than a dozen delightful b&w lithographs. A glossary of common Hawaiian words is found in the back.

The condition is VeryGood+, with light bumping and rubbing at the corners and edges. The dustjacket has small chips at the corners and edges of the spine, but is otherwise intact. It has NOT been price-clipped. With the exception of a 1" tear at top of one page, one creased inside page towards the back of the book, and some light age-toning, the interior pages are clean, tight and complete!
