#C-6 - "Maui's Summer" by Arnold Edwin Bare - Houghton Mifflin Co., 1952 - Un-price-clipped Dustjacket - First Edition - $35.00 This charming book tells of a young Hawaiian boy named Maui, who lives on the island of the same name. He meets two children from the mainland, sails through the islands with them, and has a surprise adventure at the end in which he gets a great prize! Hardbound in illustrated mustard-colored cloth, it has the original dustjacket. Measuring 8.5" x 11.5", it has 48 pages plus the color-illustrated end-papers. Every page has one of Bare's wonderful illustrations, going from color to b&w on alternating pages. Several of the color illustrations are 2-page spreads! The condition of the book is NearFine, with a VeryGood dustjacket that has small chips at each of the corners, a larger one at the bottom of the spine, and a couple of closed tears at the bottom edge of the back panel. The interior pages are crisp, clean, tight, bright and complete... like new! |
