#C-44 - "The Peddler's Clock" by Mabel Leigh Hunt - Illustrated by Elizabeth Orton Jones - Grosset & Dunlap, 1943 - First Edition Thus - $15.00 A delightful tale about a family of 3 boys and 2 girls, who live on a farm with their parents. Mother has always wanted a clock, and the story revolves around what happens when a peddlar happens by who trades a clock for a cow. Hardbound in illustrated, paper-covered boards, and measuring 8" x 8.5", the book has 28 pages. It is handsomely illustrated with 6 of those illustrations being in full color, and the balance in b&w. Front and back endpapers are decorated. The condition is Good+, with bumping and rubbing at the corners
and edges. The binding is tight, but the underlying staples
are just starting to show at the front inside hinge. There is
a 1/2" closed tear at the top of the very last page. The
dustjacket is creased, worn and soiled, but otherwise complete.
The inside of the book is crisp, clean, tight, and bright. |
