The story of a boy who lived high in the Himalaya mountains in the north of India... a region now under dispute with Pakistan. He lived with his parents on a houseboat on the edge of a lake across from the wonderful Persian garden called Nishat Bagh. The book is written for children of upper elementary school age, and gives a factual, in-depth look at the life of a young boy in that part of the world before WWII. Hardbound in decorated, patterned red cloth, it measures 7.5" x 9.5" and has 127 pages. There are 18 full-page, full-color illustrations by award-winning Roger Duvoisin, plus numerous other smaller illustrations throughout! The endpapers have a color illustration of the river valley and mountains.

The book is in VeryGood+ condition, with bumping and rubbing at the corners and edges. The binding and hinges are tight. With the exception of a very few, small spots, the interior pages are crisp, clean, tight, bright and complete, with NO significant faults whatever!
