There are a few ads, quite a bit about what the subscriber can expect in future issues, and a modicum of philatelic news. However, it is a bit thin when it comes to meaty discussions of specific issues or other items related to studious philately. Measuring 6" x 9", there are 12 pages, 2 of which are blank. A slight darkening along the UL edges, and a light age-toning of the pages are the only faults. All in all, still an interesting first effort, and definitely should be of interest to Illinoisans delving into the 19th-century beginnings of their hobby!
