#I1-13 - The Transcontinental Philatelist - Vol. I, No. 1 - December, 1893 - Published in Waukegan, Ill. - $10.00 Another first effort from Illinois, close on the heels of the previous listing. This one boasts articles titled: "Afghanistan", "A Short Account of the Postal Union from its Commencement", "Japanese Mail Methods", "Confederate State Locals", "Confederate Notes", many interesting ads and much more! The size is 6" x 9", and there are 18 pages plus the covers. The condition is Very Good, with a couple of short tears and bit of edge chipping of the covers. The words "Sample Copy" are stamped near the top. There are two vertical file-folds... consistent with this having been folded and mailed in a wrapper. Interior pages are clean, tight and complete with no faults other than a bit of light age-toning.
