#EP-4 - EASTERN WASHINGTON COLLEGE - vs - WHITWORTH COLLEGE - FOOTBALL GAME PROGRAM - October 16, 1948 - $10.00 This program was for the Saturday, October 16, 1948 game, played at Woodward Field! The cover artist was Larry Tisdale. Soft bound and measuring 8" x 10.5" it has 16 pages. Contents include articles about Jerry Stannard, Whitworth's Director of Athletics; Whitworth Football Coach Aron J "Remp" Rempel; and Vern Tucker, 1947 All-Winco Halfback. There's also a page of the results of E.W.C.E. vs Whitworth games going back to 1924, and the 1948 scores of the first 4 games of the season for each team. There's a roster and lineup for each team. Another page has W.B. "Red" Reese, Athletic Director for Eastern Washington College; Albert "Abe" Poffenroth, their Head Coach; Dan Tavely - Line Coach; and Merle Vannay, Trainer; All of the above individuals are pictured as well as their credits and accomplishments listed in the bios. Finishing up the football-related stuff, there are captioned photos of each of the members of the Eastern Washington College team. Lastly, there is a COCA-COLA ad on each of the team roster pages, featuring a little guy with white hair, and wearing a Coke Bottle Cap! The condition is VeryGood, with a tiny corner crease at the UR of the front cover, and some paper remnants adhering to the top and bottom margins of the back cover (presumably where it had be in a scrapbook). Otherwise the program is crisp, clean, tight, bright and complete!
