#EP-8 - 1936 Whitman Centennial Celebration Booklet - Walla Walla, Washington - $15.00 This booklet is soft bound, and measures 6” x 9” and comprised of 16 pages plus the illustrated covers. This celebration occurred on August 12-16, k1935, and honored Dr. Marcus Whitman, first American medical missionary, and first American doctor to practice on the Pacific Coast, and his wife, Narcissa Prentiss Whitman, who together, established the first American home west of the Rocky Mountains, on December 10, 1836, near what is now Walla Walla, Washington. The were both killed at their mission, by Native Americans, on November 29, 1847. In addition to a map of Walla Walla as it looked in 1936, there is a complete, and detailed listing of each event in considerable detail... as to what it portrayed or what activity was to transpire! The condition of the brochure and booklet is NearFine, with little sign of ever having been handled. This piece is fresh, crisp, clean, tight, bright and complete in every respect, and is one that anyone would be proud to own and/or display!
