#OCM-1 - 1940s Tide Water Associated Oil Map of Nevada & California - 19” x 27” - $15.00

This map was published by Rand McNally & Co., for The Union Oil Company. Printed in red and dark blue on white with aqua used for lakes and oceans, and with National Parks and Monuments shaded in pink. Note that this map was produced before any construction was begun on freeways... even in Los Angeles. or San Francisco... for which cities there are separate, good-sized, detailed maps! Regarding Nevada, it may surprise many people to realize that within their lifetimes (I was born in 1940), with the exception of a half-dozen major highways that crisscrossed the state at that time, the balance of Nevada outside of major cities and towns was serviced only by gravel and dirt roads! All this, and loads more information, is easily seen at a glance on this map!

Measuring approx. 19” x 27”, the folded size is approx. 4” x 9”.

The condition is VeryGood+, with a bit of light bumping and rubbing at the corners and edges, and a hint of light handling soil in a few places. Otherwise, the map is crisp, clean, tight, and complete!
