#SOM-6 - 1949 Chevron Gasoline Map Booklet of Idaho - $15.00

This map booklet was published by H.M. Gousha Company, for Standard Oil of California. Printed in 6 colors on white, this is a very colorful map. Note that this map was produced before any freeways were even begun in Idaho, or the portions of Montana, Washington, Wyoming or Oregon shown adjacent to it! The booklet consists of 16 pages, the first two having the key map of the entire area, showing that it has then been broken down into 4 separate maps. There is also an Index of Cities and Towns, and the Explanation of Symbols Used on Maps in this Booklet. The next 8 pages contain the individual detailed maps of each of the 4 quadrants shown on the first two pages. The next page is a driving mileage chart for Idaho, and another for the map of the entire U.S. (described following). This is followed by a single page detailed map of Glacier Park, then a 2-page map of the entire U.S... and finally, the last page has a detailed map of.Yellowstone Park.

The 3 staple booklet measures approx 8” x 9”, there are 16 pages described as above, and the folded size (shown in our thumbnail on the previous website page) is approx. 4” x 9”, so that as displayed it conformed to the size of other maps in a standard map rack.

The condition is VeryGood+, with some bumping and rubbing at the corners and edges, and a 1/2” x 1” spot of soil on the back outside panel, as seen when the map is folded. Finally, when opened to it’s 8” x 9” booklet size, there is a small abraded area and 1/8” round hole in the extreme UR corner of the last page near the spine. Otherwise, the map is crisp, clean, tight, bright and complete!
