#SOM-2 - 1933 Standard Oil Map of Idaho - $18.00 Measuring 18” x 24”, and folding down to 4” x 9”, this map shows all of Idaho with portions of adjacent British Columbia in Canada, and Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, Oregon and Washington in the states. An enlarged map of Yellowstone National Park plus a map of the Western U.S. and portions of 3 Western Canadian Provinces are on the opposite side. The main map is printed in two shades of blue, red and tan on yellow, while the opposite side is printed in navy blue. Of great interest on this map (and actually those of many other parts of the U.S. prior to WWII), is the fact that only U.S. Highway 30 (and not quite all of that) was paved, with only very small portions of a couple of other highways. The balance of the states highways were graded gravel, and rural roads were either graded dirt, or unimproved dirt, sand or other bad roads! This is one of the things that, when I come across it, reminds me just how far our country has progressed since I was born in 1940. The condition is NearFine, with light bumping and rubbing at the corners and edges of the two outside panels. Otherwise it is crisp, clean, tight, bright and complete.
