#SOM-8 - 1939 Standard Oil Map of Oregon - $ 8.00

Measuring 18” x 24”, and folding down to 4” x 9”, this map shows all of Oregon, and portions of California, Nevada, Idaho and Washington lying adjacent. The reverse side has a map of the entire U.S., plus a Radio Log for Oregon and adjacent states, and a map showing where the company’s service stations go by the name of Standard, and other states where they’re named Calso. A map of Portland shows such features as its Airport still being on Swan Island (though the new airport is shown under construction along the Columbia River), Union Stockyards has shrunk in size from the 1937 map, the Riverton Sportsdome appears for the first time, and Council Crest Park is apparently no longer an amusement park.

The condition is VeryGood+, with 2 small separations at points where file folds intersect, a brush of light soil at the bottom of one outer panel, and a bit of light bumping and rubbing at the corners and edges when the map is fully folded. Otherwise this map is clean, bright and complete!
