#SM-1 - 1912 Map of Kansas - 26” x 19” - $25.00

This map was published by Rand McNally for The Pioneer Mortgage Company, with offices in Topeka, Kansas and Lawton, Oklahoma. Printed in black & white, with the counties differentiated by the use of color, it is referred to as a Commercial Map of the state. It identifies towns, counties, railroad lines, and rivers, and uses different symbols to differentiate county seats and the state capitol from other towns.

Measuring approx. 26” x 19”, the map is contained within soft covers. The covers are a medium-weight soft, red card stock. The bound size is approx. 4.75” x 6.75”.

The condition of the map is NearFine, with a 1.5” tear that has been repaired on the back (un-printed) side, using Filmoplast-P, a nearly invisible, non-staining tape used by conservators and libraries to repair and stabilize important documents and books. Otherwise you’ll find the map to be crisp, clean, tight, bright and complete... without any other faults! The cover is in Good condition, being tattered and chipped along the edges, and there is a 1/2” tear at the mid-right-hand edge. The front and back covers were separated along the spine when we acquired this item, and this separation has been similarly repaired using the aforementioned tape.
