#CiM-9 - ca. 1950 Map of San Francisco and Upper Peninsula, CA - $10.00 This is a Thomas Brothers Map, and comes folded inside their standard 4.75” x 8” card stock cover. The map measures 18.5” x 35” and dedicates one side to SF, while the other is comprised of Daly City, Colma, So. San Francisco, San Bruno, Millbrae, Burlingame, San Mateo, Brisbane, Bayshore, Edgemar, Pacific Manor, Sharp Park, Villemar, Rockaway Beach and San Pedro Terrace. Not specifically dated, the above approximation is based upon phone numbers that are in the configuration “GLencourt 1-6756”, etc. Most cities had dropped that system and gone to straight digits by 1950, therefore, this map could be earlier. Other hints may be had from the absence of any mention of Candlestick Park, and the miniscule footprint of SF International Airport, not to mention the sparse development of the Upper Peninsula! The condition of the map itself is NearFine, with NO splits or other signs of handling. Very light bumping at the corners and edges of the cover. Otherwise this map is fresh, crisp, clean, bright and complete!
