#OCM-8 - 1940 Skelly Company Map of Iowa - 18” x 27” - $10.00

This map was published by H.M. Gousha Company, for the Skelly Oil Company. Printed in red, dark blue and light blue on white with stippled light blue used for lakes and rivers. The location of Skelly dealers is identified with a dark blue diamond symbol. Note that this map was produced before construction was begun on freeways, and at a time when many rural areas of the state were still served mostly by gravel and dirt roads! The reverse side of the map is dominated by a map of the entire U.S., and detailed local maps of Des Moines, Sioux City, Cedar Rapid, Davenport and Rock Island, and Omaha and Council Bluffs.

Measuring approx. 19” x 27”, the folded size is approx. 4” x 9”.

The condition is VeryGood+, with one outside panel (in folded state), with some fading due to sun exposure, and some light soil. Otherwise, the map is crisp, clean, tight, bright and complete... not even a single tear!
