#TOC-9 - 1933 Texaco Map of Washington & Oregon - 22” x 28” - $15.00

This map was published by Rand, McNally & Company, for the Texaco Oil Company. Printed in red, dark blue, green and yellow on pale yellow, it features a map of Washington and Oregon, with portions of the adjacent states and British Columbia. The opposite side features a 14” x 20” map of the U.S., plus smaller local maps of Seattle, Tacoma, Spokane and Portland.

This was a time when many roads were still unpaved, their surfaces being of compacted and graded gravel or rock if traveled heavily, and dirt if they were not. I leave it to the purchase to discover the strange routes between cities that existed then, but do no longer! One example near where I live was the circuitous route one had to take to get to Florence from Eugene!

Measuring approx. 22” x 28”, the folded size is approx. 3.5” x 7.25”.

The condition is VeryGood+, with 2 service station stamps, and a hint of light handling soil on the 2 exposed panels and edges... as seen when the map is in its folded state (see our scan). Otherwise this map is crisp, clean, tight, bright and complete... one you’d be proud to display!
