#COM-3 - ca. 1930 Conoco Oil Map of Utah - $15.00 Measuring 18” x 23.75”, and folding down to 4” x 9”, this map shows all of Utah with portions of adjacent Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho and Nevada. A map of the entire U.S., and city maps of Salt Lake and Ogden are found on the opposite side. The main map is printed in two shades of blue, red and green on cream, while the opposite side is printed in green and red on cream. The above date is based upon 1930 Census figures. Of great interest on this map (and actually those of many other parts of the U.S. prior to WWII), is the fact that only U.S. 91 and 30 are shown as mostly paved. The balance of the states highways were graded gravel or dirt, and rural roads were either graded dirt, or unimproved dirt, sand, etc.! The condition is VeryGood+, with light bumping and rubbing at the corners and edges of the outside panels, along with a bit of very light soil. I see 2 points where file-folds intersect, where there are small separations of 1/16” or less, and two 1/8” tears where file folds meet the edge. Otherwise this map is crisp, clean, tight, bright and complete.
