#NP-3 - Ivaleur Mirror & Powder Set - $12.00 This two-piece set is made of Ivaleur... an early type of Celluloid made from cellulose nitrate. It has the look of ivory both as to color and the typical ivory-like grain. The mirror measures 11" long by 6" wide, and the glass is beveled. The silvering is in excellent condition with the exception of a 1/16" area along the very edge of the mirror where it disappears under the Ivaleur. The back is generally clean, with a small streak (1/16" x 1") which is a light-rusty color and could have been from laying next to something like a hair-pin that was a little rusted. The powder jar is in super-clean condition, and measures 5" wide by 2" deep. There is a rectangular 1/2" x 1" rectangular stain towards one side of the bottom surface. This would only be apparent to someone turning the jar upside down. In the middle of the bottom surface is a logo which reads: "IVALEUR - Reg. U.S. Pat. Off." within a fleur-de-lis design incorporating the letters "C-C" where the dash is a shield with an eagle's head topping it. All the above show up in the photos/scans. The C-C was an abbreviation for Celluloid Corporation.
