#MIS-3 - 1935 Boy Scouts of America Membership Card - full color - $15.00

This tri-fold card measures approx. 3.75" x 7" when fully opened. When folded, the two exposed, illustrated panels are printed in color. Each bears one or more illustrations of Boy Scouts involved in some activity related to scouting. The third panel on the "front" side has the scouts name, and February, 1935. The back side has the Scout Oath and Scout Law on one panel, a list of the progressive steps through a scout's growth in BSA, with room for the scoutmaster to enter the dates the scout qualified in each step on the second panel. The last panel has places for the scout's vital statistics, and notes that the card was issued in Long Beach, California (hand-stamped), with a stamped facsimile signature of the Scout's Executive Commissioner at the bottom.

The condition is VeryGood+, with a couple of small, very light handling smudges, and one tiny ink stain on the back side. Otherwise it is crisp, clean and bright, with NO tears or creases other than the required file folds so the card would fit in a standard wallet pocket or protector. Also included is the original card protector, with ads promoting Boy's Life, the official scouting magazine, and encouraging the new scout to buy his official Scout Uniform as soon as possible. This protector is in Good+ condition, with some light soil, the boy's name in ink along one side margin, and some creasing of the top flap, but NO tears or other major faults!
