#TB-8 - "The Discovery and History of Carlsbad Caverns" - 1940 - by its discoverer, JIM WHITE! - 6" x 9" - Autographed - $25.00 This booklet was privately published by Jim and Charley Lee White! It is Signed, in ink, by the author and discoverer on the title page! Soft bound and measuring 6" x 9", it has 24 pages plus the covers. Chapter headings include "Bats"; "Wandering Three Days in the Deep"; "The First Photographs of the Caverns"; "The National Geographic Looks In"; "The Cavern Today"; and "Formation of the Caverns". There are 12 photographs in color, plus an additional 6 in b&w. Finally there is a full-page, cutaway diagram of the entire cavern complex and improvements! The condition is VeryGood, with light bumping and rubbing at the corners and edges. There are 1/4" wide stains along the right edge and about 1" at the top and bottom of the inside back cover, where tape was used to hold this in a scrapbook at some time in the past. Otherwise the booklet is crisp, clean, tight, bright and complete... a joy to behold!
