#MIS-13 - Emily Post Autographed Letter - $25.00

This letter was a response to a “Miss Allen”, who had written to Mrs. Post for advice on her upcoming wedding. The stationary heading is “Emily Post - (Mrs. Price Post)”, and is dated “October 5, 1934”... this date being about 2-years after she became syndicated in some 200 newspapers across the nation. Emily was born in 1873, and died in 1960!

Measuring approx. 7.5” x 10”, the single sheet letter contains 4 typewritten paragraphs, and the salutation “With all best wishes, Very sincerely - Emily Post”, in black ink! The stationary is a very good quality watermarked, laid bond paper. The recipient has annotated the letter at 3 places in the margins... these comments indicating the nature of the questions that elicited the responses Mrs. Post gave.

The condition is NearFine, with only the folds necessary to fit the envelope to prevent this from being pristine! Note that the signature matches facsimile samples of Miss Post’s signature in our references. Further we are unable to certify, and therefore we offer it as is, as described... with the possibility that it may have been signed mechanically, rather than by Emily Post’s own hand... and therefore not returnable should that be the case the case. It has been priced accordingly. Still a very fine, and authentic letter sent by Mrs. Post.
