#MIS - 15 - TWO 1922 LETTERS to BANDLEADER, ANTON LADA, from "MENORAH HOME FOR AGED AND INFIRM"! - $20.00

These two single-sheet letters, dated September 7 and 11, 1922, comprise a request for Lada’s “orchestra” to play a benefit engagement at the home, followed by a second letter thanking him for agreeing to do so. Both letters bear the rubber-stamped signature of the Home’s Board Secretary, and one of them has a handwritten “Sincerely Yours” added just before the signature. These, more than any other memorabilia related to Lada, show the extent of the man’s humanity. Both are attractive, on Menorah Home’s illustrated letterhead, and they add a poignant personal touch. Like the handwritten score, they came to us from Lada’s daughter in rural Wisconsin.

The condition of each letter is VeryGood+, with horizontal and vertical file folds from having been mailed in a typical #6 envelope. The Sept. 11th letter has 2 small black ink spots that partially obscure a couple of characters each, though all is still legible. Each letter has a 1/4” tear at the top of one of the file folds, and a couple of small corner creases. Otherwise both are crisp, clean, bright and without any other faults!

SPECIAL: All 3 items for $45.00 (#MIS - 15 and #MIS - 16 combined)
