#MIS-21 - Aerial Leaflet Commemorating the Army Occupation Landing at Nagoya, Honshu, Japan - on October 28, 1945 - $25.00 Measuring 4” x 6.25”, this leaflet bears a 1¢ U.S. stamp bearing the words “Freedom of Speech, and Religion, From Want and Fear”, and has the postmark “U.S. Navy, Oct. 28, 1945”. The picture is of the industrial waterfront of Nagoya with the shadow of a B-29 bomber looming overhead. A caption, stamped in red ink in the harbor area of the picture reads: “Army Occupation Landing, Oct. 28, 45 - The Bomber Plant City of Nagoya, Honshu, J. - Target of Doolittle Raid”. The reverse side is entirely in japanese, and has a purple postmark: “New York, N.Y. - U.S.S. Marvin H. McIntyre BR. - OCT. 19, 1945” The condition is NearFine, with a faint hint of handling soil at the edge of the UR corner, looking at the front side with the stamp. Otherwise this scarce WWII commemorative item is fresh, crisp, clean, bright and like new!
