#MIS-18 - “War-Crime Trials - Nurnberg, Germany - Nov. 20, 1945” Booklet for Correspondents - $40.00 This pamphlet consists of 7 mimeographed pages, measuring 8” x 10.5 “, and held together by two stapes. It is an original handout given to press correspondents attending the Nurnberg trials, and comes to us from the estate of a brother of the woman who was there as a member of the press. The pages are as follows: (1) The cover sheet with the information seen within quotes above. (2) A “Floor Plan of Court Room”, with the individual tables and chairs identified with numbers. These numbers correspond to a roster running down the left side of the page. The roster identifies the positions and names of each of the defendants, the positions and names of each of the judges and their alternates, the 5 tables for the defense councils, the individual tables for the French, Russian, American and British prosecuting councils, the court recorders’ table, court secretaries’ table, 8 seats for distinguished guests, the witness stand, the Marshall of the Court, the interpreters tables and the press seats. (3-7) A listing of the defendants, by name, with a listing of their ranks, positions of responsibility and other information immediately below. The defendants are listed in the following order: Goering, Hess, Ribbentrop, Rosenberg, Frank, Kaltenbrunner, Frick, Streicher, Keitel, Funk, Schacht, Doenitz, Schirach, Sauckel, Speer, Papen, Jodl, Neurath, Seyss*Inquart, Raeder, and Fritesche. Immediately below the last defendant, on page 7, is the following statement: “Note: All information and conversation in the Court Room is transmitted by means of microphones and specially located microphones. Use the earphones at your seat and dial the foreign languages as follows: 1. Speaker 2. English 3. Russian 4. French 5. Spanish” The condition is Good+, with the following faults noted: The entire booklet has 3 horizontal file folds... as though folded to fit into a long, narrow envelope. Both staples are rusted, and have small stained areas around them. Page 1 has a 3/8” tear from the top of the upper staple to the edge, and a 1/8” tear just below the center file fold. Page 2 has a <1/4” tear at the UR corner, and a bit of soil at the top. Pages 3 & 4 are toned to a light tan. Page 5 has a bit of blurring of the text in the center of the page, as though lightly rubbed before the ink dried; however, this does not affect the readability. Page 6 is detached from the top staple but firmly held by the bottom one. It also has a smaller blurred area in the center... but again is fully legible. Page 7 is completely loose from the staples, and has 1/2” tears at the right and left edges of the center file fold. There are stains next to where the stapes were, and a diagonal crease across the LR corner. Otherwise, the booklet is complete.
