#AKP-4 - Vintage Cabinet Photo of Pine Straits, Alaska - $5.00

The actual photograph measures approx. 3.25” x 3.25”, and that is mounted on a standard, embossed cabinet card backing, typical of the first decade of the 20th century. A caption in pencil on the back side reads “Pine Straits, Alaskan Waters”. This is in the same hand as the majority of the 100+ snapshots, larger format photos, postcards and other ephemera we purchased from a Portland, OR estate.... that of a woman named Whitfield, who had traveled to Ketchican with her husband in 1905, where he set up his first practice.

The condition is VeryGood+, with light rubbing at the corners of the backing card, and just a hint of toning of the backing card. Otherwise this photo is very nice, well-focused, and with good contrast of the silhouette of part of a commercial boat ship at the left!----------
