#AKP-6 - SNAPSHOT OF KETCHIKAN, ALASKA - “Ketchikan - 1914” - $15.00

This photo is one of more than 100 that we purchased from an estate in Portland. The photographer was a woman who had traveled to Ketchikan in 1905 with her husband, a Dentist who setup practice there. It measures approx. 3.25” x 5.5”, and the above caption, in quotes, is in her very legible hand, in ink, on the back side of the photo. This one is a beautifully crisp view of the Sawmill and nearby buildings. (see the previous photo... taken a couple of years earlier, from a bit farther away and showing a wider sweep of the town)

The condition is VeryGood+, with light bumping at the corners, and a hint of handling soil in the margins. Otherwise it is crisp, clean, and bright... superbly focused and contrasted!
