#CC-1 - Arizona Eastern Yards in Phoenix, AZ - The photo measures 5" x 7" and is mounted on a cabinet card, typical of the period, which measures 8.5" x 10.5". The foreground is sharp and pictures five men, Engine No. 5 (number cast on front of boiler) and attached coal car which has the numeral 5 on its side. Probably a 4 out of 5 on the sharpness scale! - $65.00 The Yardmaster, Ed, is identified on the back as being second from the left. The title we've chosen above is also written on the back in pencil. The tall fellow at the left is probably the engineer, judging from his dress, and one can guess that the fellows at the right are probably brakeman and fireman. Might the well-dressed gentleman in the center be the Stationmaster? A partial business name in the background reads "---- --rauss & Co." (Levi Strauss is the most likely possiblity). |
