#AKP-12 - Snapshot of “Co. Joslin’s Private Yacht at Valdez Alaska” - $18.00 One of more than 100 photos we purchased from the estate of Mrs. W. B. Whitfield, who, in 1900, traveled to Ketchkan, Alaska with her dentist husband, who set up practice in that city. According to her daughter she was also the photographer. It measures approx. 3.4” x 5.25”. The caption, on the back read as given above in quotes. Note 2 men in a small canoe near the bow of the yacht, and also the dark motor launch moored alongside. If one assumes the canoe to be about 9’ in length, I estimate the yacht to be about 125’! The condition is NearFine, with a hint of bumping at two corners, and an uneven darkness at the bottom and left edges. Otherwise it is crisp, clean, and bright, with a slightly soft focus and good contrast!
