#PH-11 - Lemon, California - Clear strike on envelope, dated Sep. 20, 1892 (EKU?) - $200.00 This is a very clear strike of a scarce DPO-7 item... the only fault being that the lower half of the "20" did not register. This date is verified, however, by two backstamp postmarks of subsequent San Diego County P.O.'s which show the same date. One of these, Otay, California happens to be a DPO-3, thus providing a "two-for-the-price-of-one" bonus. Note that the Lemon P.O. was only open from 1892 to 1895, thus making it an Early or even possibly an Earliest Known Use. One end of the envelope has been roughly opened. No enclosure.
