#PH-17 - Hand-Painted First Day Cover - by F.M. Geerlings - 25¢ Mylar Football Issue #10 Envelope - Sept. 9, 1990, Green Bay, Wisconsin - $25.00 This cover was designed and hand-colored by Geerlings, an Oregon artist, and is therefore of only limited production. Typically he only produced from a few dozen to a couple hundred of each design. On the back is the notation "40-125" in ink, indicating that this is #40 of a total issue of 125. The scene depicts action between the Cincinnati Bengals and San Francisco 49ers. Included with this, as a bonus, so-to-speak, is a 4.5" x 6" card with 5 semi-superimposed vignettes of Joe Montana on the front. Inside is the sentiment "Thank you for your interest, your kindness, and your warm wishes...", and autographed by him in black, felt-tipped pen inside. The entire cover is in Fine condition, crisp, clean, bright and without fault! The Joe Montana card has both a horizontal and vertical crease, there is a rough 1/2" square hole near the bottom of the back page of the card, not affecting either the sentiment or the autograph, and the card has pinholes in the upper corners. Card is understood to be "as-found", without recourse. |
