#AD-5 - Mushroom Lovers Fantasy Series - Chromolithographs - Int'l. Postal Card Co., Chicago - $15-20.00 each

Curiously, I've not found these cards listed anywhere. At any rate, they are one of many wonderful fantasy cards in which human attributes and faces are projected upon various critters, flowers, vegetables, shoes and, in this case, mushrooms. The series is focused on love's blossoming and progression to a happy family. All 4 of these cards were printed in Germany for the above company, and were sent by one person traveling in Colorado, to a relative in Iowa. Postmarks range from April 27 to May 7, 1908, all being sent from Arriba, Colorado to McGregor, Iowa.

The condition of the first is Good, while the balance are all VeryGood or better. The principal fault on the first card, titled "Love at First Sight", is creases in both upper corners, the UR being the worst, with some attendant chipping in the margin. The next card titled "The Introduction", is Good+, with a small crease in the UL corner and a smaller one with an accompanying margin chip in the UR corner. This card and the one to follow both have a faint "x" on the head of the male mushroom. The 3rd card is titled "The Engagement", and has lightly bumped and rounded corners, but is otherwise in VeryGood condition. The final card is titled "Married and Happy", is lightly bumped and rounded at the corners but is without any other faults. I would rate this card as VeryGood+. The two good cards would be $15 each, while the two VeryGood cards would be $20.
