#PH-19 - 1949 Nu-Nui Giant Postcard - “Riding the Surf at Waikiki” - $5.00 This postcard measures approx. 7” tall by 9” long, and is unused. The scene shows 2 beach boys riding a swell on long boards, the second (and younger) of the two has a young haole woman (in bathing cap) oh his shoulders. Two young women and are seen in an outrigger canoe with another beach boy, also riding the same swell in the mid-ground, and the face of Diamond Head and Queen’s Surf area in the background... all in natural color! NOTE: This is one of 2 such Giant cards we are listing today. The 1949 copyright date is in the fine print at the bottom of the back side of the card. The condition is NearFine, with a hint of bumping at the corners, and a 1/4” x 1/2” light stain in the extreme UL corner of the back of the card. Since this corresponds with the UR corner of the front of the card, which is nearly black (deep shadow), there is no way to tell if it has come through to the front or not. NO other faults!
